From our GM Andy
It’s kinda surreal, isn’t it?
As I sit here with the pub keys back in my hands, after 3 months of site refurbishments, it really is quite mind-blowing to see the changes these old walls have gone through in such a short period, after such a long history. It was only a decade or so ago that the entire business was at risk of disappearing, as so many of our peers sadly have. Now we have a beautiful new site that manages to pay homage to all the great names that have plied their trade and made memories, but also lays the foundations (in the case of the new Terrace Bar, quite literally!) for the future!
Whilst that work was going on, our events team were still grafting to fill up 2026 with iconic gigs, the hottest new music and some of those weekend party favourites, with 260+ gigs already planned in for the rest of 2026, and show no signs of stopping!
Alongside the showstopping names of Ocean Colour Scene, PP Arnold, Ralph McTell and Laurie Wright is also the most exciting part; a whole host of new music (300+ acts confirmed & counting) that could just be those names of the future. So make sure you get yourself along to a night.
With a refurbishment of this size bringing a lot of eyes; old, new, returning & regulars, I probably should’ve started with welcome!
We cannot wait to show off our new place; we hope you love it as much as we do – we’re a chatty bunch so feel free to come tell us – we’re always up for a natter!
An Interview with Fusion by Design
Having seen the final vision come to light, we sat down with the designers of the project, David & Paula from Fusion By Design, to discuss the concept and it’s glow-up from page to pub.
“It was an exciting project to be part of”, David states. “The Half Moon — a venue that has hosted everyone from The Rolling Stones to The Who — is entering a new era. It was an ambitious redesign and refurbishment, but we wanted it to reopen with a bolder identity, a sharper energy, and a refreshed architectural vision.”
One of the biggest additions was the introduction of a new Terrace bar on the first floor; which required substantial building work.
“The redevelopment introduced a first‑floor terrace extension, a newly crafted upper‑floor bar, enhanced facilities, and a complete rethink of the building’s internal and external character.”
They shared their vision documents exclusively with us for what they set out to achieve – pick up our magazine in the pub to find out more!
Gossip Column

Having seen the most extensive works in the site’s 100+ year history, there was a lot of interest in the build-up to our grand reopening, and so our New Music Co-Ordinator, and much acclaimed HM Legend, Phil Atkinson, headed to BBC studios to talk to Jacqueline Shepherd on her London Nightlife show.
