After our providing the live music for our hugely successful 60's themed New Year's Eve party, this popular band return.
Their
first major gig was The Stevie Marriott Memorial Concert at
The Astoria in London on 20th April 2001. (Steve Marriott
of Small Faces and Humble Pie fame was a resident performer
at the Halfmoon in the nineties) During discussions with Jerry
Shirley (Humble Pie's Drummer) it was decided that they would
do 4 numbers, with Steve Ellis (Love Affair) singing on three
of the tracks. The group rehearsed at Ritz studios in Putney,
and as they had already played together in the highly popular
4 Bills and a Ben for a number of years, they got it together
in no time.
On the day of the gig The Mods arrived for the soundcheck
and chaos, with everyone trying to see Paul Weller and Noel
Gallagher and other assorted 'faces' getting it together.
Johnny had not seen Paul for nearly 20 years since back in
1978 when he had become friends with not only the Jam, but
also Paul Weller's family. After a quick chat with Paul Weller,
The Mods went on to do their soundcheck and the rest was history!
So come down and enjoy classics by the Small Faces, The Who,
The Animals, Kinks and many, many more.
