I AM KLOOT - SOLO JOHN BRAMWELL WITH NATALIE ROSS

£10.00ADV£12.00DOOR

This whimsically named Manchester, England-based trio comprises John Bramwell (vocals/guitar), Pete Jobson (bass), and Andy Hargreaves (drums). Formed in late 1999, all three members were already well established figures on the local music scene. They debuted on the city's re-established Ugly Man Records label with two 7-inch singles, "Titanic"/"To You" and "86TV's"/"Twist". Live showcases in Manchester and London further established their reputation, and in May 2000 they signed to Wall Of Sound offshoot We Love You. The acoustic sensibility of debut Natural History recalled the contemporary lo-fi folk stylings of Badly Drawn Boy, although Bramwell's laconic vocals and smouldering attitude on tracks such as "Morning Rain" owed more to Ian Brown and Liam Gallagher. The trio signed a new recording contract with the Echo label and teamed up with producer Ian Broudie to record their self-titled second album, released in summer 2003. Broudie added his textbook production touches to the album, expanding the I Am Kloot sound to provide the perfect framework for chief songwriter Bramwell's finely observed lyrical vignettes. The trio undertook their first US tour in 2005 in support of the belated stateside release of I Am Kloot. Shortly afterwards, they released their third European album, Gods And Monsters.

After a series of sold out dates in 2005 and 2006, John Bramwell returns to regale the Halfmoon with his twisted torch songs and heart-wrenching serenades in this solo acoustic show.

One-Woman band Natalie Ross is a sassy and eccentric jailhouse-rockin', Blues merchant who will have you salivating in your seat, well that's if your not up 'n' dancing already. Her finely crafted songs and recordings, all written, produced, arranged and performed by her ladyship, take household objects, an acoustic guitar and kooky vocal style to a surprisingly accessible sound. Natalie’s live performance brings new depths with her innovative use of technology. She converses an electrifying twist to homemade and DIY.
