Artists Performing:
Verden has recorded five solo albums, and is now playing as hard and heavy on that Hammond as he ever did, playing many old Mott classics along with his own material which won't fail to leave you feeling like you have been entertained... in the newly formed. Verden is going to appear in session on the Bob Harris show this month and Rock Journalist Kris Needs will begin writing a biography of his life which promises to be a spectacular read. He regularly meets up with other artistes from his early days many of whom we expect will attend this special event at the Half Moon in London such as Mick Ralphs, who went onto join Bad Company after he left MTH; and with former members of Robert Plant’s ‘Band of Joy’ who Verden joined on stage alongside Robert Plant at a recent gig. Verden recently accompanied former members of MTH guitarist Ariel Bender (Luther Grosvenor) and Mike Bolton in a question and answer session with fans following a screening of The Ballad Of Mott The Hoople documentary at Rough Trade records. Ariel Bender has also played with Spooky Tooth, Stealers Wheel and with Jim Capaldi; and Mick Bolton has played with Dexy's Midnight runners and Linda McCartney.
Mott the Hoople's verden Allen & his band.
Verden Allen is well known for his unique Hammond organ sound that made Mott The Hoople famous.
After leaving MTH, Verden toured and recorded with many other projects, including The Cheeks, a band with Martin Chambers and Jimmy Scott before they left to form The Pretenders.
In 2009, it was announced that Mott The Hoople would be re-uniting for two concerts at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. In October 2009, these became a total of five amazing sell out shows, such was the public demand to see the original members perform.
